Research Technician (f/m/d) Chair for Gender Medicine 80-100%
The Chair for Gender Medicine is recruiting a RESEARCH TECHNICIAN. Among other top-ics, we investigate the molecular mechanisms of cardiac health and disease, emphasizing gender differences. Our research focuses on physiological and pathological cardiac growth, heart failure, regeneration, and exercise-induced cardiac remodeling. We utilize advanced models such as hu-man induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), primary cardiomyocyte cultures, and animal (rodent) models. By uncovering the fundamental mechanisms of cardiovascular pathophysiology and their gender-specific aspects, we aim to develop innovative therapeutic strategies for heart disease that consider sex and related factors. We are looking for a competent, team-oriented research techni-cian to support our work.Your responsibilities
- You will independently perform research experiments such as: isolation and cultivation of embryonic/neonatal cells, sterile work with cell lines (cell proliferation/viability/apoptosis/migration assays), Western blot (including the JESS technology), PCR, RT-PCR, cloning, plasmid preparation (Maxi), ELISA, histology, immunostaining, microscopy, FACS, animal experimental work with mice (genotyping and maintenance of mouse lines), work with Adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors
- Active participation in research group meetings and research seminars
- Operation and maintenance of lab reagents, equipment and facilities
- Participation in the management of lab (organization and logistic)
Your profile
- Applicants must have a diploma/degree in vocational training as a laboratory technician or a degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or related disciplines
- Practical experience in basic methods of biology and histology such as cell culture (primary, iPSCs cardiomyocytes), Western blot, RT-PCR, ELISA, histology, microscopy and an-imal experiments
- Good knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Word and Power Point)
- Basic knowledge of statistics is a plus
- Good communication skills in English and German
- You are motivated, team-orientated, friendly and authentic
- Detail-orientated and can-do attitude
