Lab Manager (80%)
The Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology focuses on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer and translating innovative therapies into clinical practice. Our research has a strong emphasis on hematopoietic stem cell biology, oncology, and the preclinical development of novel therapies against neoplastic diseases. Several research groups in the department work closely together toward these goals, using state-of-the-art technologies in cellular and molecular immunotherapy, gene editing, pharmacological screening, xenograft models and bioimaging.
Your responsibilities
- General laboratory and infrastructure management to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
- Ordering of consumables, budget monitoring, and management of laboratory inventory, including biologicals and chemicals.
- Coordination of maintenance and servicing of laboratory equipment in collaboration with external facility management.
- Implementation and continuous updating of biosafety (BSL2) guidelines; training new lab members in biosafety procedures.
- Acting as deputy for selected animal facility support activities.
Your profile
The position requires training as a Laboratory Technician or a university degree (BSc/MSc) in biology or a related biomedical field. At least 2 years of laboratory technician experience is mandatory. We are looking for a highly organized, reliable individual with strong communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly to diverse tasks. Prior hands‑on experience with the management of animal experiments is highly valued. The position requires proficient German skills and good communication abilities in English.
